About the Call

Within the GUERRE project, we invite artists from Serbia to create music, and theatre works inspired by the cultural heritage of the Balkan Wars and the First World War.

This call focuses on performative and sonic reinterpretations of historical materials, transforming archival sources into contemporary artistic expressions for a digital museum environment.

Who Can Apply

  • Musicians, composers, sound artists
  • Theatre makers, performers, directors
  • Artistic collectives and cultural organizations
  • Professionals working in music and performing arts

Applicants must be based in Serbia.

What We Are Looking For

Projects inspired by:

  • Folk and military music traditions
  • Wartime songs, oral histories, memoirs
  • Theatre and performance practices from wartime contexts
  • Everyday life at the front and in the rear

Formats

  • Reinterpretations of historical songs and dances
  • New compositions based on archival texts
  • Audio recordings or experimental sound works
  • Short performances
  • Monologues and performative storytelling
  • Reconstructed dances or historical scenes
